Distinguished Printed Matters

The Federal Chancellor held the laudation in honor of Awardee Marcel Reich-Ranicki, later the guests tripped the light fantastic till the early morning hour. For the fourth year now the magazine stern and the publishing house Gruner + Jahr have presented the Henri Nannen Award and the Deutsche Schauspielhaus in Hamburg once again experienced an exhilarating celebration.

Whether early morning, midday or night. Lately it seems the Federal Chancellor is into giving praise at any time of the day. You don’t know if it is the weather, or the meteorical near-collision of the summer in the middle of our spring? Perhaps it is due to the fact that not even snails can find dark wetlands, in which they can breed exponentially, only to subsequently destroy gardeners’ prize flower beds. In any case on this Friday before Pentecost this hobby gardener was in an exceptional mood. In the early morning she commended Herr Huber Leader of the Christian Social Union Party. At lunch in Düsseldorf she praised Herr Rüttgers Head of the North-Rhine Westphalian Christian Democratic Union.

And as the night approached, she threw on her monument-colored dinner suit and drove to the Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg. (...)
