Special Award
In addition to the existing categories, beginning in 2010 the jury may present a Special Award for outstanding journalism.
This could be for an exceptionally good article whose content and form do not fit into any of the regular categories. For example, it could be a unique and moving interview that has a lasting effect on the reader, a brilliant analysis that identifies important connections for the first time, an unusual montage of journalistic resources that leads to a novel presentation of particular intensity.
It could also be an extraordinary piece of research, a standalone action or an example of outstanding journalistic commitment or courage – either by an individual or by an editorial team.
Also outstanding performances of entertaining, humorous report writing can be submitted for the special price.
Nominations for this Special Award can be made with a short explanatory note by e-mail to wettbewerb@henri-nannen-preis.de.
Translations, book publications, serials, manuscripts and audiovisual formats are excluded.
